Secularism or Surrender? The Real Cost of Congress’s Waqf Bill

If you take a serious look at Indian history, it becomes painfully obvious: the Nehru-Gandhi family—including, ironically, Mahatma Gandhi himself—often made decisions that sidelined the interests of the Hindu majority. The discrimination wasn’t loud or direct, but embedded in policies, disguised as secularism. And then came Sonia Gandhi. Since her entry into power, one can observe a consistent pattern—strategic moves that seem to quietly chip away at the Hindu foundation of India.

Let’s talk about 1995, a critical moment when the BJP was gaining serious momentum. What did the Congress do? They pushed through a bill—almost under the radar—that handed unprecedented power to Waqf boards. We’re not talking about equal rights here; we’re talking about rights that go beyond Indian law. Yes, if a Waqf board claims a piece of land, it becomes nearly untouchable. Try challenging it. Good luck.

Since then, the so-called “Waqf land mafia” has been quietly expanding. If things continue this way, don’t be surprised if a massive chunk of Indian land is Waqf-controlled in the next 50 years. Here’s the kicker: the very community that owns all this land? It’s still battling poverty. Why? Because the benefits aren’t reaching the people—they’re concentrated in the hands of a few. Classic exploitation, wrapped in religious immunity.

India is currently in the Chhidra Dasha, with the Moon and Sun involved—setting the stage for the upcoming Mahadasha of Mars. Translation? Struggle is not just coming; it’s already beginning to stir. And in the D-10 chart, the Sun—sitting powerfully in the 10th house in a fire sign—gives this phase a bold, authoritative energy. Decisions will be firm, possibly fierce. In the foundation horoscope of the India (15 August 1947, 00:00 hours at Delhi) given below Rahu is placed in the ascendant. Rahu as per the classical texts of Hindu astrology signify Muslim community. Interestingly the horoscope of Indian Republic (26 January 1950, 10:18 a.m. at Delhi) has Pisces lagna and we have Rahu in the ascendant there also which astrologically explain the country’s status as a secular nation as per the constitution.

Capricorn rises as the Ascendant in India’s annual horoscope, representing the 9th house of the nation’s fundamental horoscope – religion, law, justice, and higher values. This alignment highlights a year shaped by legal reforms, ideological transformations, and institutional restructuring.

Muntha, the symbol of annual activity and movement, is placed in the tenth house, which represents authority, governance, and the public image. This depicts a period in which India establishes its global identity, makes administrative decisions, and takes bold leadership actions.

Mars, the lord of the year, is a fiery, action-oriented planet noted for its drive, conflict, and execution. With Mars at the helm, we should expect quick twists, bold policymaking, and perhaps contentious but transformative decisions in politics and the law.

So, prepare for a time of confrontation. The illusions are fading, and the era of soft diplomacy is ending. What comes next may be fiery—but necessary.

As of April 2025, Waqf boards in India manage approximately 870,000 properties encompassing around 940,000 acres of land, making them the third-largest landowners in the country, following the Indian Railways and the Ministry of Defence .
