Narendra Modi has never lost an election. From becoming the Chief Minister of Gujarat in 2001 and leading the state after the 2002 election to serving continuously as the Prime Minister of India since 2014, he has held positions of exceptional political authority.
From a Vedic astrology perspective, such sustained prominence often points toward a powerful connection between the Lagna (Ascendant) and the 10th house—the house of karma, authority, reputation, and leadership. When the Lagna, its lord, and the 10th house or its lord are strongly interconnected, they can indicate a person whose identity and destiny become deeply tied to positions of power and public responsibility.
Although three different birth charts of Narendra Modi are in circulation—with some astrologers considering the Libra Ascendant chart to be the correct one—the Scorpio Ascendant chart remains the most widely accepted. There are also differing opinions regarding his birth time, with some sources citing 12:09 PM and others 11:00 AM. Personally, I find the 11:00 AM chart to be the most convincing. While the Ascendant remains the same in both versions, the difference in birth time significantly alters the Navamsha (D9) and Dashamsha (D10) charts, leading to different interpretations of his destiny, career, and life path.
Following the Godhra incident in Gujarat and the subsequent communal violence, the Congress party had heavily distorted his image. However, due to the policies of the Manmohan Singh-Sonia Gandhi government—which were perceived as anti-Hindu—Hindus viewed Modi as a beacon of hope and elected him with a massive mandate. Hindus believed he would restore the standing of Hinduism in India, countering the “brainwashing” carried out by leftists through the education system and cinema, which had systematically marginalised Hindu identity.
Power often masks mistakes—until they begin to compound. Some decisions that appear manageable in the short term can, over time, erode trust among even the most loyal supporters.
The Modi government faced criticism for overturning the Supreme Court’s safeguards on arrests under the SC/ST Act, a move some compared to Rajiv Gandhi’s reversal of the Shah Bano judgment. Critics argued that the resulting repression became a liability for the government, with the law allegedly being misused in some cases for false implication and extortion and reports of innocent individuals dying by suicide. Although this issue did not significantly affect the 2019 election—when the Pulwama attack dominated public sentiment—some observers believe the UGC-related controversy created a “boiling effect” that brought the accumulated public dissatisfaction to the surface, significantly damaging Modi’s reputation.
Based on the Hindu New Year and the BJP’s horoscope, I had earlier predicted that, from July 2026, the party could face internal turmoil. Until February 2027, growing youth dissatisfaction and coordinated opposition, potentially backed by foreign funding, may create persistent challenges for the government.
I have provided charts for both of PM Modi’s possible birth times; since the 11:00 AM time seems more plausible to me, I will proceed with the chart for 11:00 AM.
Since 2021, Modi ji has been passing through the Mahadasha (major planetary cycle) of Mars. As the lord of the ninth house, Mars combines with the Moon to form a Neecha-Bhanga Rajyoga (a planetary combination that nullifies the effects of debilitation and creates a powerful, auspicious state). Furthermore, the lord of the tenth house is positioned in the eleventh house alongside an exalted Mercury, signaling gains; however, in the D-9 and D-10 charts, the tenth-house lord influences the Lagna (Ascendant), causing the individual to become overly emotionally attached to their position of power, which can sometimes lead to erroneous decisions. Consequently, Modi ji’s powerful image among the public has waned; instead, some observers now see Yogi Adityanath as a stronger future contender to represent Hindu interests and Bharatvarsh, particularly among those who believe Hindu concerns have not received adequate attention over the decades.
Will Modi Risk Losing the Next Election?
After a much narrower victory in 2024 and growing dissatisfaction among sections of his traditional support base, the question is whether the government can afford further political risks. Does the astrological chart indicate a period of course correction—or increasing challenges ahead?
The Rahu Mahadasha, beginning in 2028, indicates a significant change in Modi-ji’s role and status. The D-9 (Navamsha) and D-10 (Dashamsha) charts continue to signify authority and high office, but they also point toward a transition rather than continuity in the same position. By 2027–28, the direction of his next role is likely to become evident.
